| Step 1: Downloading and Installing Aeon RO |
|
Please fill out an application to gain access to the beta download, which can be located on the forums. All downloads have been disabled on this page. Now then, let’s begin. The first thing you’re going to need to do is download and install the client software to play. This can be done very easily if you follow the instructions below. If you don’t have anything related to Ragnarok Online installed on your computer at this point, the most simple way to install everything you’ll need is to download the following file:
In order to download the file, you will need to login at the prompt with your username and password that you (chose to) use to login to the game. Once that file is downloaded, just run it and it will start the installation process. It will have a default installation path of C:\Program Files\AeonRO, but you can change that as you see fit. It will also give you options for creating a start menu group, a desktop icon, and a quicklaunch icon. Make your selections as you wish, and then tell it to install. After installation, it will have the option of running the patcher, and from the patcher you can run the game. Now then, if you do already have some base installations of the kRO clients on your computer, there’s a few important things to do. Firstly, you’ll want to delete any data folder you may already have in your installation directory. Once that’s done, you can download the following file(s) to install just Aeon RO’s custom files:
After you’ve downloaded the file(s), just run them and choose to install it in the directory that you have kRO installed in. It too will give you options for start menu groups, desktop icons and quicklaunch icons. Once you’ve made your selections, it’ll install Aeon’s custom files and then give you the option of running the patcher, from which you can choose to start the game. When you are finished with all of this, continue on to step 2… |
