Duchas, Goddess of Nature went a little bit off of the deep end when the Godly Council decided to make beings to roam the world. Duchas had lots of fun with this and created many creatures. The Ancient is one of the most interesting of these creations. Ancients do not come from your traditional family. An ancient's 'biological parent' would be the cave that they were born in. Yes, they come from stone. No one is quite sure about the exact science of this, but randomly, some gray rock-oooze stuff will start to creep down the wall and cultivate into a little pile on the floor. From this, a form is made. A baby ancient. A baby ancient actually is the equivalent of any other race's five year old. They skip the infant and toddler stages and go right to being playful little children. In the beginning of their lifetimes, they tend to run into walls. This is mainly because they are born without eyes. As the child develops, they become more in tune with their surroundings, learning to rely on their other senses in order to know what their surrounding are. Their mental capacity, due to being born from a -rock- is... low. It is often said that they are indeed, dumb as rocks. They do have functional brains though, and can adapt and learn. What they lack in smarts, they make up for in strength. They are very instinctual and their skin is very tough, making it much harder to cause them physical pain. (Lifted from the forum.
