| Throughout Rune, there are small groups of nomadic satyrs who call themselves the Nothit. The name is not commonly used outside of the tribes themselves, and they can often be referred to as Nomads, Desert Nomads, Nomadic Satyrs, etc. All of these names apply to the same people. They generally travel in groups ranging from 3 to 9, but it is common to see a young adult or adolescent out alone in the world, without any tribe.
Like all Satyrs, a member of the Nothit bears the horns, hooves, eyes, and hairy legs of a goat. They are generally built tall and powerful, partially as a racial trait and partially from controlled selection to keep the most physically capable members in the group and reproducing. Due to a lifestyle that demands lots of lifting and walking, they tend to be very lean. A Nothit is most easily distinguished by a larger nose, olive to dark skin, and medium to dark hair and eye colors, depending on the region. Their faces tend to be long, with defined cheekbones. Members of the Nothit who have accomplished certain feats of fame or shame may also have their faces and/or bodies tattooed. Scars are also a common sight. |
