Summary
Lutie: Known for small knick knack shops and a wintery landscape, Lutie has done well to keep separate from the rest of the world. Yes, it is known as a tourist attraction, but its freezing weather and constant snowfall keep many away. The citizens of Lutie are usually the happy sort, spreading good cheer from one to another. Lutie is also home to the HJB Toy Factory, employer of strange little elven men and women commonly referred to as 'Cookies.' The city is run by a jolly fellow acting as a governor with a small cabinet of elected townsfolk. For the most part, things are very peaceful and happy.
Commerce
Lutie Island is also home to the largest known factory for toy production, placed smack dab into the middle of the island's largest settlement, Lutie City. Needless to say, the children of Lutie City are quite happy.
Landscape
The landscape is quite rugged and harsh, with a little bit of everything... Expansive plains of nothing but snow spreading for miles and miles, to thick forests of pine on the mountainsides. The coastlines are just as harsh as the inland, with high rocky cliffs that lead down to freezing currents of water below. These high coastlines were one of the many reasons settlement of the island for a long time was thought impossible; until a trade ship knocked off course by a storm found a perfect little bay on the south side of the island. Once this little niche was found, several others were discovered, resulting in scattered little merchant village hubs along the island's coasts. Lutie City is the only inland settlement.
Military
Lutie Island has no formal military to speak of. It has, at best, a small militia, that is more often than not called out only for small disputes in the community, or to go on missing person excavations. The independent state is governed by a mayor, with small, mostly unused deputy offices. Considering you have to have a considerable amount of money to even get a house and survive in Lutie, the general population is rather clean cut and scrupulous without a need for high amounts of policing.
Lutie Island is famous for its' Cardinal Champagne, as well as their delicious hot chocolate.
