The Creation Story

This story is told as all creation stories are. This is the most common for those that have traditional religious beliefs.

It is said that Saolamae, God of Life, was sitting at his dinner table one evening growing bored of the celestial life. The Gods and Goddesses had their place and it was very beautiful, but he wanted to create something more. He called for a meeting, gathering some of the other Gods together to make something more.

Saolamae and Bheitheas each created two beings in their likeness. One male, one female. And down the line, each of them would breathe a bit of their being into each creature. First Bheitheas would give the creatures the ability to love and co-exist with one another. Machnaidgh and Eloas would bless the beings with the ability to be creative, and to expand their minds.

Duchas, Goddess of Nature, was more interested in creating more beings. Creatures that were one with the elements of the earth below them.

Nadham was invited to this meeting, but would watch with a cheshire grin, deciding to keep an eye on these creatures throughout their lifetimes and occasionally step in.

Word of the meeting was initially kept hush hush, not letting the three more... 'dangerous' Gods in on the creation. Cogadh, Anord and Bashan caught wind of the plan to create 'lesser beings,' and of course, wanting to be included, busted in on the lovely party. They saw the beings that the three created, and decided to follow their lead, creating three types of beings in -their- likeness, blessing them as the others had. Cogadh would give the beings a need to fight. Anord would give them a non-linear way of thought; the ability to make trouble in their own lives.

Frightened, the Gods and Goddesses would make a deal with the three party-crashers. In order to keep things balanced, they would all give each creature all of their gifts. So the more gentle Gods would bless the darker God's creatures, and vise versa. Now the creatures had a vast range of abilities and emotions. All that was left was for them to be granted life.

Saolamae would step up to each creature, and closing his eyes would give each one their last gift of the day. Life.

After, the creatures were sent to the world to live their lives and populate the planet.

Although, afterwards, Saolamae would look to Bashan with a curious expression. "What will you grant them with?"

Bashan would run a hand through his hair and chuckle. "They cannot be immortal, like us. When it is their time, I shall take everything they've been granted away. Including their lives."
